Notre pédagogie


Notre pédagogie s'inspire d'une part de l'apport des pionniers de l'innovation pédagogique, tels que Maria Montessori, Célestin Freinet, John Dewey, Alexander Neill ou Rudolf Steiner, d'autre part des recherches actuelles en sciences de l'éducation et dans d'autres champs comme la psychologie, la sociologie, les neurosciences, la philosophie ou l'anthropologie.

En concertation avec le conseil pédagogique, l'équipe éducative prend en compte les études qui évaluent scientifiquement les pratiques pédagogiques, tant du point de vue de la réussite scolaire que du bien-être à l'école, et les mettent en œuvre avec les enfants (par exemple, classes multi-niveaux, tutorat par les pairs, enseignement des compétences socio-émotionnelles ou soft-skills).


The Avenir Bilingual School is a school where everyone has a role to play: the children and educators, of course, but also the parents and other school staff. It implements a number of principles:

- Every child is unique: They have their own learning style, interests, and abilities; The role of the school is to help them discover these and develop their potential harmoniously, taking all these elements into account.

- To be able to best support each child, suitable and trained staff is necessary: The staffing ratio must be limited in order to allow a personalized approach.
- Education is not limited to the acquisition of knowledge but also includes the development of psycho-social skills or soft skills (creativity, curiosity, empathy, perseverance, critical thinking, etc.)

As early as the 19th century, the educator John Dewey advocated "learning by doing" to make students active learners, starting from their interests. Children are naturally curious, eager to learn and discover the world around them. At the Avenir Bilingual School, children participate in inquiry-based learning projects, based on their own requests.
